THE QUICK ANSWER

Choose the label made for your printer

Inkjet and laser sheets are not interchangeable. Look up your printer model if you are unsure which technology it uses, then check its guidance for printing self-adhesive label sheets.

Choose by print compatibility, then test your design.

Both clear products let the container show through. Readability, colour and water resistance depend on the printed result and the packaging it is applied to.

DESIGN FOR TRANSPARENCY

The container becomes your background

A design that looks strong on a white screen can look very different on a filled bottle or dark jar. Preview the actual printed label on the finished packaging before ordering a full batch.

Ask about your artwork
  1. Check contrastDark text can work well against light contents. Test colours, small text and barcodes on the actual container.
  2. Plan for unprinted white areasMost standard desktop printers do not print white ink or toner. White areas normally stay clear.
  3. Expect some visible filmThe label edge, gloss and adhesive may still show. Clear does not mean invisible on every surface.
  4. Need a white base?Choose an opaque white label or ask about a white layer on a suitable custom-printed roll specification.

Waterproof polyester is one part of the specification.

Ink or toner, adhesive and the container matter too. Splashes, condensation, immersion, dishwasher cycles and outdoor use are different demands. Ask for a suitable specification and test the complete printed label.

LET US PRINT, OR PRINT YOUR OWN

Need sheets, custom rolls or blank printer rolls?

Choose the format first, then confirm the material, adhesive and print finish for your packaging.

Professionally printed sheets

Send your artwork and let us print the labels. Ask us to confirm a suitable clear material and finish for your application.

Custom printed rolls

Explore printed roll labels for your brand. For transparent stock or designs needing a white layer, request a quote to confirm the available specification.

Blank thermal printer rolls

Need labels for a thermal printer instead? Thermal transfer uses a ribbon; direct thermal does not. Ask for a suitable synthetic material when water resistance matters. Standard thermal stock is not automatically clear or waterproof.

YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

Clear label FAQs

What is the difference between clear inkjet and clear laser labels?

Both products use gloss transparent polyester with permanent adhesive, but their print coatings suit different printing processes. Choose clear inkjet stock for an inkjet printer and clear laser stock for a laser printer.

Can I use clear inkjet labels in a laser printer?

No. These clear inkjet sheets are intended for inkjet printers only. Use the clear laser polyester product for laser printing and check your printer supports self-adhesive label sheets.

Can I use clear laser labels in an inkjet printer?

No. Clear laser polyester is specified for laser printers. Choose the inkjet-compatible product so the surface coating is designed to receive inkjet ink.

Are clear polyester labels waterproof?

The polyester face film is waterproof, but the finished printed label also depends on the ink or toner, coating, adhesive and surface. Test the printed result for the moisture and handling expected in use. Do not assume suitability for immersion, dishwashers or outdoor exposure.

Can my printer print white on a clear label?

Most standard desktop inkjet and laser printers do not print white. White areas in the artwork usually remain unprinted and transparent. For a design that needs a white layer, ask us about a suitable custom-printed roll specification.

Will clear labels look invisible on every container?

No. Clear labels let the background show through, but the film edge, gloss and adhesive can still be visible. Container colour, texture, curvature and contents also affect the appearance. Test a label on your actual packaging.

Where can I get a template for clear A4 labels?

Use our label templates page and match the template to the exact label dimensions and sheet layout you order. Print at 100% or Actual Size, with page scaling turned off, and check alignment on plain paper first.

Can you print clear labels for me on sheets or rolls?

Yes. Explore our personalised sheet labels or custom printed roll labels, then request a quote to confirm a clear material, print method and finish suited to your artwork and application.

How quickly are clear inkjet labels dispatched?

Our clear inkjet A4 sheets are made to order, dispatched within 3 working days and supplied with free delivery on every order. Check the clear laser product page for its current dispatch and delivery details.
