Create clear product labels with a gloss finish using our transparent polyester inkjet labels. The clear film lets the surface underneath show through, making it a useful choice for bottles, jars, cosmetic packaging and other smooth containers.

These sheets have a permanent adhesive and an inkjet-compatible print coating. They are for compatible inkjet printers only; do not use this stock in a laser printer.

Clear film, print and adhesive performance

The polyester face material is waterproof. The durability of the finished printed label also depends on your printer, ink, drying time, application surface and conditions of use. Test the finished print for the moisture, rubbing and handling it will face before ordering a large quantity.

For refrigeration, freezing, outdoor exposure, oils or cleaning products, ask us to confirm the appropriate specification. Waterproof film alone does not establish suitability for every one of these conditions.

Designing on a transparent background

Most standard desktop inkjet printers do not print white ink: white areas in artwork are usually left unprinted and appear clear. The container colour can affect printed colours and contrast, so test the artwork on your actual packaging.

Bottles, jars and smooth containers

Use clear labels where you want the packaging or contents to remain visible. Apply to a clean, dry surface and test adhesion on the actual container, especially on curved or textured areas.

Cosmetics, gifts and handmade products

Print branding, product names and other information with a transparent background. Check the contrast against the packaging and leave enough space for readable text.

Retail and product identification

Add product references, prices or barcodes where a clear background suits the design. These labels use permanent adhesive; if later removal is required, choose a suitable removable material instead.

Food and drink packaging

Apply labels to the outside of suitable packaging. Do not assume direct food-contact suitability. For chilled goods or condensation, test the complete printed label and confirm the specification for your conditions.

Mailings and presentation packaging

Create clear address or presentation labels on suitable smooth surfaces. Test paper, card and coated finishes before a larger run, and check that text remains readable against the background.

Test on plain paper first, then print one complete label sheet. Follow your inkjet printer’s guidance for coated label media, feed direction and tray selection. Allow the print to dry before stacking or applying labels; drying time depends on ink coverage and equipment.

Keep sheets flat and dry. Do not feed sheets with missing labels or exposed adhesive through your printer.

For a thermal printer, explore thermal transfer labels (printed with a ribbon) or direct thermal labels (no ribbon). Standard thermal stock is not automatically clear or waterproof. Ask for a suitable synthetic material and, for thermal transfer, a compatible ribbon.
